A few weeks back someone here was worrying about not enough NetBSD
people to get work done, that might cause a drift to FreeBSD. 
Last week a thread on FreeBSD reported migration from FreeBSD to Ubuntu.:

He suggested restructuring (Free)BSD to be more competitive,
some suggestions could equally interest other BSDs. Packages was one area.
(40+ responses so far on his thread).

BSDs share a lot of code, imports from other BSD's src/, some 3rd party into
src/, + thousands of packages.  Duplicate time wasted is Colossal.  

When at least one BSD is considering significant changes it seems a good
time for other BSD to contribute ideas, & share best ideas & commonality. 

My suggestions:
- Subscribe a list or 2 on [SomeOther]BSD[s].org
- Encourage people on [SomeOther]BSD.org to subscribe a list on [Your]BSD.org.
- Encourage BSD people to share ideas on best tools, methods, formats, imports. 
- Get more free public source users, groups & jobs in your town,
  help with http://softwarefreedomday.org in 3 weeks.  ( Globaly,
  SFD will distribute much more Linux media than BSD, as Ubuntu
  sponsor has deeper pockets, but eg my city ( http://berklix.org/sfd/
  ) will offer media for Linux + 2 x BSDs etc.

When BSDs don't co-operate, Linux wins.
When BSD & Linux don't co-operate, Microsoft wins.
