usb stick install

hi all...


just tried a few times to install rc1 from a usb stick following the 
instructions here:

i used NetBSD-6.0_RC1-i386-install.img.gz and also tried 
NetBSD-6.0_RC1-amd64-install.img.gz

after the machine boots i get Missing operating system. it an hp machine...

i'm not sure if there is anything else that is not noted on the 
instructions in order to get the thing to boot of the usb...

any pointer would be appreciated...
