Point taken. I was not needing this option when I was using wired
broadband connection which used to saturate. Due to some service issues I
switched to a 3G connection which yields more throughput only with
multiple threads. (I don't know why it does not yield full bandwidth to a
single thread. Perhaps there are techno-commercial reasons.)
But, even with multiple threads (10 by default with aget) I get maximum
1.5 to 2 mbps of speed. So I thought it would not be so taxing (or does
the impact on others depend only on connection count and not on
throughput??)
Anyway, I have taken a note of this and I use the default downloader for
pkgsrc. (Hardly 1 or 2 times till now I had used aget.)
Mayuresh.
