raid1 uses ld1a and ld2a
Both ld1a and ld2a have a NetBSD RAID partition starting at sector 63
(very usual stuff). raid1 has a NetBSD FFS partition starting at
sector 0.

SATA disks configured as JBOD (each disk is exported as is) on a
3ware 9550SX controler.
But as said earlier, for a disk that has a partition in a RAID
an another partition outside of the RAID, the performance are weak
with the RAID and good without it. The underlying hardward hence
seems fine.
