Someone created /etc/nologin and it had a bad file descriptor possibly
maliciously.  fsck_ffs and rm -fP cleared the problem.  Read srcs not
finding.  Was in the man page for login(1).  Sorry about the noise.  No
backups.  My housing is not secure.  Door was locked and chained.
