Sorry, typo:
# installboot -v -f -o timeout=0 -o console=com0,speed=9600,ioaddr=0x3f8 -m amd64 /dev/rxbd3a /mnt/usr/mdec/bootxx_ffsv1
That was a bad copy/paste for the mailing list. The results are still the same for my build and I still have no console. :^(
