(and some discussions around that topic on tech-install IIRC). We should
realy have a multi-level boot override/priority selection.
This sounds a lot like my problem ....
However, I think ramdisk based install kernels like
http://nyftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD-daily/HEAD/201506160230Z/amd64/binary/kernel/netbsd-INSTALL.gz
What is in here ? I downloaded it, am I supposed to integrate it into my
install USB key ? If so, how ? Just checking.
should work: just exit the installer and manually use raidctl to unconfigure
the auto-root property.
My problem is I can't get to the installer, either directly or w/ boot
-a, the boot process heads for the now-hosed RAID1 root disk no matter
what .... I think I will need to zap the 1st few MB of those 2 drives w/
'dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/raid0 count=10' & start over. That isn't as bad
as it sounds, & will be the third try :-/, but if it works, I am off to
the races ....
Haven't tried it, but maybe worth to test...
Martin
Thanks for the info.
