NetBSD on an Intel Chromebook?

I've heard that Intel based Chromebooks could potentially run a
non-Linux kernel. I'd be interested in triple booting
ChromeOS/Android-86 and NetBSD.

 - Is this technically possible?

 - Has anybody done it (I've heard stories of FreeBSD but none about NetBSD)?

 - Is it worth it?

I am looking for a lightweight and at the same time cheap
laptop/netbook to run NetBSD with. My old Thinkpad is great but too
heavy.
