Happy to report that i have finally managed to get a dual boot setup working with Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and NetBSD 6.1.5. As I type this I am low-level formatting my HD to try the process again, to ensure I can recreate the steps, but I believe I can get it to work a second time as well. Following this, I’ll update the appropriate wiki page on netbsd.org; the current one is outdated and has some gaps, especially in explaining the “how and why”.
In the end I was able to use the regular MBR boot, i.e. not gpt biosboot, without any issues!
Cheers.
