interestingly enough, on a NetBSD client:

$ cd ${NFS_SHARE}
$ dd if=/dev/zero of=./test bs=32k count=31000
31000+0 records in
31000+0 records out
1015808000 bytes transferred in 12.673 secs (80155290 bytes/sec)

It's not yet wire-speed but much better than the results I posted earlier that
were obtained on Linux and OS/X clients.
