I doubt that:
/* If it's not cacheable, or an error, mark it invalid. */
if (ISSET(bp->b_cflags, BC_NOCACHE) || bp->b_error != 0)
SET(bp->b_cflags, BC_INVAL);
After an error the data is thrown away.
