As of dhcpcd-7 at least that should no longer be the case. So -current
and -8, dhcpcd won't touch pre-existing routes if it doesn't need to.
I don't recall you saying what NetBSD or dhcpcd version you were using.
All hosts that can netboot run -current as such. All but a dwindling
few run -8 from local disk. Some also have -8 via netboot/NFS and a
couple still have -6 on NFS. Anything not yet running -8 likely has
-7 until I can get around to updating it.
sparc is the most frequently used non-x86 platform. evbarm-earmv7hf
(-8), evbmips-mips64el, macppc, and sparc64 (all -current) make appearances
from time to time. There are a few others about (various m68k boxen
and one PReP), but arranging for them to run is a lot of work right now.
I will have to arrange to try one of the non-x86en with 'dhcpcd' under
netboot/NFS conditions. It's been a long time since I tried and the
last time things behaved as I described.
