X11 crashes on NetBSD 8.0
Hi,
I installed NetBSD 8.0 from scratch on my R51. See attached dmesg!
Most things work. However X11 gives me woes
full dmesg attached.
1) first start (WiFi configured and running) starts with windowmaker,
looks fine including background, but freezes. I had a telnet session to
the machien open, it did hang, I had to power-cycle the laptop
2) reboot, do not configure network, startx. X11 starts and seems to
work, although the background is black, but redraws as windows moves (I
had exactly this issue with 7.1
3) exit X11, configure WiFi, startx... comes up, works crashes after a
few seconds. Machine does not lock up, I can work in the console which
is fine, so I can read the last messages
I see this in the console: (can be seen in the dmesg too)
DRM error in intel_pipe_set_base: pin & fence failed
DRM error in i8xx_irq_handler: pipe B underrun
that doesn't look nice.
Now things are worse. I remember reading on this mailing list about
X11-network interactions,I thought they were fixed? maybe this is a
coincidence
However, it is much worse than on 7.x where I just had issue 2).
Actually, 2) used to loose acceleration either at thte first attempt ro
"sooner or later" becoming slow. I wanted to report details on that, but
before I updated.
Ideas?
