How to use bioctl with mpt?

Hello, all,

I'm trying to figure out how to create a mirrored set of disks using 
bioctl with an mpt controller:

I couldn't create a mirror in NetBSD, so I booted in to Solaris and made 
it there. After rebooting in to NetBSD, bioctl showed the status to be 
"Degraded". I couldn't figure out how to get the mirror to resync inside 
of NetBSD, so I rebooted in to Solaris and let it stay there until 
resyncing finished. Solaris then showed:

How is one supposed to use bioctl to rebuild a mirror? Why is the mirror 
degraded from booting in to NetBSD?
