If you need them, you might want the kernel modules there as well.
That's what I was going to suggest in reply top manu's last message -
I do something similar (I actually have a full root filesys in the
small wedge - and duplicate it on both drives, using rsync, though it
changes very rarely). (The relevant system actually has more drives
than that, but just 2 of them are config'd in the BIOS as possible boot
devices ... I'm not sure, but in my case, that might be its limit for
SATA boot drives - it can also use ATAPI and, I think, USB).
That, along with raidframe root autoconfig (so raidframe takes over
root, very early) simply works. It means a little extra maintenance
work when the kernel is updated, but it really is not a problem
(though I agree it would be better if things simply worked.)
