One can always "pkg_admin fetch-pkg-vulnerabilities && pkg_admin audit".

I'm think this is irrelevant. The pkg-vulnerabilities is only "a list of known security vulnerabilities to packages which are (or have been) included in pkgsrc", to quote the pkgsrc guide.
