The Window stays white background, with some black rectangles (e.g., 
blindly opening a menu adds a corresponding rectangle)

Blindly opening an URL shows the title as the windows title (rendered by the
window manager) - onlye rendering seems to be broken.

This is

build environment was 8.0ish, firefox 68.7 from 2020Q1.
