WiFi disconnection issues: wpi unreliable (Intel PRO)
Hi,
my Asus laptop comes up with:
[ 1.026365] wpi0 at pci4 dev 0 function 0: vendor 8086 product 4222
(rev. 0x02)
[ 1.026365] wpi0: interrupting at msi2 vec 0
[ 1.026365] wpi0: MoW2, address 00:13:02:21:b0:e3
[ 1.026365] wpi0: 11a rates: 6Mbps 9Mbps 12Mbps 18Mbps 24Mbps 36Mbps
48Mbps 54Mbps
[ 1.026365] wpi0: 11b rates: 1Mbps 2Mbps 5.5Mbps 11Mbps
[ 1.026365] wpi0: 11g rates: 1Mbps 2Mbps 5.5Mbps 11Mbps 6Mbps 9Mbps
12Mbps 18Mbps 24Mbps 36Mbps 48Mbps 54Mbps
if I configure network, it comes up quickly and appear working just
fine. After a while (I did not test if it is just a matter of time or
caused by download, usage, e.g. currently I am trying to clone a larger
git repo) it disconnects
I see "status" not active anymore... and in dmesg I notice:
[ 5928.137024] wpi0: autoconfiguration error: fatal firmware error
[ 9020.332405] wpi0: autoconfiguration error: fatal firmware error
[ 9030.258714] wpi0: autoconfiguration error: fatal firmware error
[ 9142.510061] wpi0: autoconfiguration error: fatal firmware error
If I pull it down and up again, it does not reconnect... Also I see with
ifconfig that
media: IEEE802.11 autoselect (DS1 mode 11g)
the "mode" of the media changes to a lot of different values. Finally
after some attempts and leaving it down, it come sup again.... works for
a while and stops.
(this is why several firmware errors)
The card is:
005:00:0: Intel PRO/Wireless LAN 3945ABG Mini-PCI Adapter (miscellaneous
network, revision 0x02)
