Thank you ! I am familiar with MPI and I think it is the PVM information that I am most interested in for right now.

Hello Adam,
There are some related tools in pkgsrc/parallel, though I'm not sure how fresh they are. Ones that jump out at me are OpenMPI and mpich. I also see PVM in there.
