pccons was removed from i386 and shark ports.
That leaves NetBSD/arc as its last remaining consumer.

However, not with the GENERIC kernel. Seems you have
to use the PCCONS kernel - NetBSD/arc GENERIC is wscons.

It seems pretty dead.
