Another X problem in 10.x (regression compared to 9)

I ran into another X problem with 10.1 and my Radeon 5450 card. It may
or may not be specific about that card: I need to do more experiments.

The trigger for this issue *may* be Firefox: when playing a video on
https://web.whatsapp.com/ . However the video that may have triggered
the issue seems to have been removed by the sender, so it's a bit hard
to retry exactly.

The issue seems to be memory corruption of X's collection of (small)
bitmaps. For example in ctwm titlebars, the stippled area in the middle
gets corrupted. And so do all xterms. (Possibly only xterms with bitmap
fonts). When it happened yesterday, most of these bitmaps (i.e.
characters) got blanked out and some got some random-ish pixels in them.
Repainting the windows (such as like switching workspaces) doesn't help.
So it seems like the bitmaps of the font's characters get corrupted at
the source.

Firefox (132.0.2) itself renders itself differently and was hardly
affected.

Restarting my X session (from base) restored normality.

This was the second time it happened and if my vague recollection is
correct, the first time was also after playing some video in Firefox.
Although it may have been on YouTube (I'm not 100% certain). On the
other hand I played a lot of YouTube videos recently without issues.

I will have to do more experiments to see if I can trigger this on
different hardware (I don't care so much to experiment on my main
desktop machine). So it may be a Radeon-only problem, or not.

I don't think this ever happened with 9.x so it seems like a regression.
