Fw: Re: Mariadb on NetBSD 10.1

Hi David

I tried your suggestions. They made sense to me. But the results
were negative. With or without your additions to the /etc/rc.d/mariadb file, the xconsole says 'Starting mariadb' (from /var/run/rc.log) but it has not started, and there is no trace of it in any other logs.
I can start it manually, without any problems.

I have tried many things, also reordering, but to no avail.

The only thing that will make it start at boot is removing the '&' but that seems to block the automatic start of my local httpd server which is essential to my teaching. So I am f...d.

I don't want to use more time on it now. I will start it manually, or switch to postgresql, which just starts automatically, and then return to the issue next time there is an update to NetBSD.

Thanks for your time trying to help me.

/Niels
