 I've switched to NetBSD 2.0.2 since then, tried to reproduce the problem,
 but it seems something has been changed in a way it's not encountered any
 more on 2.0 (maybe newsyslog updates).
 
 As I don't have time to test on NetBSD 1.6, and noone else seems to have
 the problem, I suggest this PR be suspended or closed.
