Gnome 2.10
The Gnome Trashcan is always empty, even if you delete files, or drag'n'drop files to the trashcan. If you open the Trashcan, no files are shown. 
On the other side, your deleted files exist in the Directoy ~.Trash/
But are not shown on the Desktop (in the Trash)

Install Gnome 2.10 drag'n'drop a file to the Desktop Trashcan.
