I'm using zsh and I've written `unlimit' into .zshrc. This problem
was caused by bumping the limit of the datasize. With today's
-current, it does not dump core. However, it still does not work
properly with `unlimit datasize'.
% limit
cputime unlimited
filesize unlimited
datasize 256MB
stacksize 2MB
coredumpsize unlimited
memoryuse 978MB
memorylocked 326MB
maxproc 160
descriptors 64
sockbufsize unlimited
% emacs
(emacs works fine)
% unlimit datasize
% limit
cputime unlimited
filesize unlimited
datasize 8192MB
stacksize 2MB
coredumpsize unlimited
memoryuse 978MB
memorylocked 326MB
maxproc 160
descriptors 64
sockbufsize unlimited
% emacs
(I got this message on emacs)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Warning: past acceptable memory limits
Killing some buffers may delay running out of memory.
However, certainly by the time you receive the 95% warning,
you should clean up, kill this Emacs, and start a new one.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
best regards.
