 No, Avidemux doe NOT use external MJPEG Tools. Use of MJPEG Tools is 
 obsolete, there has been no MJPEG Tools dependency in Avidemux for 
 a very, very long time.

 When the Avidemux author himself says it is not used anymore, it is not 
 used anymore. I don't think there's anyone who knows it better than the 
 Avidemux author.
 
 That's why I think closing the bug was a very bad idea.
