Could you please try this again with the version in pkgsrc-current?
If it keeps failing, edit the Makefile and modify the conditional at the
end of the file to be effective in all cases (i.e. comment out the lines
starting with .if and .endif, leaving CFLAGS+=-O0 uncommented).  If this
works we can add a workaround for alpha.
