Sorry, I should have been more precise: On Solaris, and without
gtkdoc-rebase, install *fails* with an error:

After installing gtk-doc, the non-fatal error mentioned in the initial
pr is shown, but installation succeeds.
I wasn't aware, that gtkdoc-rebase was already used in earlier versions
of glib2, and that only the test for its presence was changed. Maybe the
new syntax is less portable and pdksh doesn't like it.
I tried rebuilding the package with WRAPPER_SHELL set to bash, but
"bmake replace" fails immediately (without any useful error message).
I agree, installing gtk-doc is by far not the right solution. Although
it does fix the problem in my case.
