Yes, the ordering of the default path is backwards. Or at least, most
people would say it's backwards, but there's another (vocal) set of
people who insist that it should be this way.

(If anyone feels inclined to air an opinion one way or the other,
please let's do it on tech-userlevel and not in this PR.)
