I'm not really sure what you mean.
mkstemp is available in Solaris, at least in version 10. Please note
this section in NetBSD's manpages for mkdtemp:
The mkdtemp() function is nonstandard and should not be used
if portability is required.
So IMHO mkdtemp is a no-no for pkgsrc. See pkg/39717 for another case.
