You did added to flags for log by yourself, so adding right permissions to the
log file is also a job for yourself, not for pkgsrc.

About "no error generated by MySQL" issue, pkgsrc does not touch the area,
it's a original behaviour.
If you don't like it, you should report to MySQL developers, not here.
