        It's been several months since openoffice worked.  I have rebuilt it
        several times to no avail.

        The current error looks like this:

        $ uname -srm
        NetBSD 5.99.24 i386
        $ pkg_info -e openoffice\*
        openoffice3-3.1.1nb3
        $ soffice
        I18N: Operating system doesn't support locale "en_US"
        terminate called after throwing an instance of 
'com::sun::star::uno::RuntimeException'
