>Description:
When using
hosts: files nis dns
in /etc/nsswitch.conf, firefox (in this case, 3.5.5) initially starts with the
first tab OK, subsequent pages do not open. The program is responsive, but the
dns query never returns.
>How-To-Repeat:
Configure a system to use 'files nis dns' for name resolution and try to use
firefox...
>Fix:
I avoid the problem by periodically synchronizing my /etc/hosts file with the
NIS yphosts database, then using 'files dns' for name resolution.
