 No, the PLIST variable were correctly implemented on 2 Oct 2008, and were 
present in the PLIST until Jan 24, 2011, which is when DragonFly was broken and 
when VLC was updated from WIP to version 1.1.6.  Clearly the WIP version was 
not a 1:1 replacement:

 Maybe some of these other PLIST issues were introduced at that time as well?
