Thank you for testing that!
The thing is, glib2 is split into glib2, gdbus-codegen and gio-fam, so
they share the patches directory in glib2, so PATCHDIR is set in
Makefile.common, so unfortunately, patch-aj will have been used.
It is proabably easier to try again temporarily changing the original
directory?
