 First of all thank you very much for looking it!
 While here - based on the patch that you've provided in this PR - I've
 also take the chance to further update it to the 1.14 version and
 changed a bit your patch in order to be less invasive (thanks to
 riastradh@ for providing inputs, as usual all possible mistakes are
 mine). While here I've also commented all the patches and get rid of
 redefining an ad-hoc do-install target:
