Just to see what would happen, I self-hosted a release build for amd64
to have -current built on -current. The build completed without incident.
I then updated with the resulting release sets.
Returning to updating packages, Upon reaching
"devel/gobject-introspection", the build process failed in the same
fashion as originally reported--segfaults during "GICOMP" operations.
This time, there was a little more information available from 'gdb':
Core was generated by `g-ir-compiler'.
Program terminated with signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
