NetBSD netbsd 7.0 NetBSD 7.0 (LUMBERCARTEL) #0: Sun Jan 3 07:09:12 UTC 2016 root@netbsd:/usr/obj/sys/arch/amd64/compile/LUMBERCARTEL amd64
>Description:
Upgrading to the perl-5.26.0nb1 and ap24-perl-2.0.10 packages resulted in the following problem when attempting to start Apache HTTPd v2.4:
netbsd# /etc/rc.d/apache start
Starting apache.
httpd: Syntax error on line 170 of /usr/pkg/etc/httpd/httpd.conf: Cannot load lib/httpd/mod_perl.so into server: Shared object "libperl.so" not found
Prior to this upgrade, Apache HTTPd v2.4 started and mod_perl2 (ModPerl 2) was working reliably (the Perl interpreter, running from the shell, still seems to be functioning correctly). I cannot find "libperl.so" on my system now, and so I suspect that one of these two upgraded modules may have removed it.
>How-To-Repeat:
pkgin upgrade
>Fix:
We need the ap24-perl module to either not remove "libperl.so" or, if it needs to replace it, install the replacement.
