A lot has been updated and fixed in LXDE since this PR was filed back
in 2017 (for example, a search path that upstream had mistyped as "xgd"
where they meant "xdg"). I'm unable to reproduce the fundamental issue
reported, when testing with a fresh installation in a VM, built from
current pkgsrc, running on NetBSD 9.4_STABLE/i386. Closing this ticket
as resolved.

These days, I wouldn't recommend anyone use LXDE anyway. LXQt is the
better equivalent, both because it has a very active upstream, and
because it gets a lot of attention and testing from pkgsrc developers,
where LXDE does not. LXDE has known issues with graphical rendering,
unrelated to this ticket.
