  Yes, I was having a lot of trouble with the perl version on a
high-load mail server (that was one of the main reasons why I never made
a package out of it).

  Martti, it would have been nice if you had at least contacted me
before making such a large change.  Could you please back out these
changes and commit them to a separate package, such as amavis-perl?
