Sorry, I wasn't clear enough. libtool certainly builds
shared libraries which can be loaded using the standard
dynamic loader. Plugins for pam (and nsswitch, ftm) are
loaded in non-standard ways which are OS dependant.
(means it builds a path and perhaps a library version suffix
using rules I don't know)
So it needs testing for every single OS.
