There is code fragement in pkgsrc/lang/ruby193-base/Makefile:

# work around for getaddrinfo(3)

.if ${OPSYS} == "SunOS" && !empty(OS_VERSION:M5.[6-9])
CONFIGURE_ARGS+=        --enable-wide-getaddrinfo
.endif

If you comment out these line and rebuild ruby193-base, would
something change?
