Hi,
I have just built a minimal NetBSD installation with XDM and CTWM.
I can get dhcpcd (command line) to work as root for both wifi and
pseudo-ethernet connection.
I have installed both dhcpcd-gtk and dhcpcd-qt.
I believe they should be launched as standard user, as long as the
user is in the wheel group.
$ dhcpcd-qt
QStandardPaths: XDG_RUNTIME_DIR not set, defaulting to '/tmp/runtime-oc'
System tray may not be available
Connecting ...
Status changed to down
dhcpcd_open: Invalid argument
dhcpcd_open: No such file or directory
[ ... hangs and must be killed]
$ dhcpcd-gtk
** Message: 15:35:33.417: Connecting ...
** Message: 15:35:33.417: Status changed to down
** (dhcpcd-gtk:5068): CRITICAL **: 15:35:33.418: dhcpcd_open: No such
file or directory
[same as above]
In the installation messages, I've seen this:
===========================================================================
The following files are used by dhcpcd-9.4.0 and have
the wrong ownership and/or permissions:
/etc/rc.d/dhcpcd (m=0755)

Any clues?
