Interesting.   That semantics won't quite work for us, becuase the
default assumption is that it can be parallel installed unless it is
marked to conflict.

But, having a variable that turns on renaming of non-suffixed
non-namespaced failes and registers them with alternatives makes sense,
perhaps

PYTHON_AUTO_ALTERNATIVES=yes

and it would be an error if there are no such files?
