R-httr2 should not have been committed without build testing, but
probably the best solution here is to upgrade R-curl from 5.0.0 to
6.0.1.  This will also fix the R-curl build issue on macOS:

I put R-curl 6.0.1 in WIP and confirmed that it builds on NetBSD10,
Alma8, and macOS 15.0.  R-curl has a lot of dependencies, though, so I
don't want to commit without giving R users a chance to ensure there are
no regressions.  New major version, so API issues could exist.  Please
test any dependent packages below that you use and send feedback.
