I'm running locally built pkgsrc-current on amd64 NetBSD 10.1_STABLE
without any apparent font display issues on a ThinkPad T480 with lxqt
(openbox). Daily driver including Firefox & IntelliJ IDEA. Sometimes I
return to the locked xscreensaver to find the display has gone crazy
(have to switch to console and "/etc/rc.d/slim restart", and
occasionally Things Get Unhappy in the world of java and I end up
restarting to simplify. "pkg_info -N thunderbird" at the end for
reference.

As a test case does thunderbird display badly when run to/from a
different display - or even if you run "ssh -X localhost" and then run
it?
