Yes, that can be done and is probably the way to go on short notice - but it defeats the pbulk approach to have an automatically maintained (custom) repository.  One will have to monitor wether curl gets rebuilt and replace it after that happened.  Could be a fancy wrapper around pbulk or a stylish hook in pkg_comp.
