Herb, thanks for clearing things up!
I used to have a Boca SuperX VGA (512K) which was a CL5420 and I now
recetly purchased a Cirrus Logic 5429. Both are 16bit ISA. The XFree86
SVGA server works fine with the latter chipset. I had to use VGA16 with
the Boca because of limited memory on the video board.
Speaking of video, etc., what would be involved in getting a port of X
for NetBSD up and running on a DEC Alpha? Shouldn't XFree86/X11R6.1
sources compile fairly easily (and quickly :-) on a Alpha?
Also (another aside :-) has NetBSD been known to work on the 21164 EBs
and motherboards? I hopefully will be procuring one this summer!
