[Hi Chris!]
Is there a known bug in dump/restore on NetBSD/alpha 1.2A? If not, is
anyone else using it successfully?
xaos (root) /u1 4% dump 0f /u1/var.dump /var
DUMP: Date of this level 0 dump: Mon Aug 5 11:02:34 1996
DUMP: Date of last level 0 dump: the epoch
DUMP: Dumping /dev/rsd1e (/var) to /u1/var.dump
DUMP: mapping (Pass I) [regular files]
DUMP: mapping (Pass II) [directories]
DUMP: estimated 828 tape blocks on 0.02 tape(s).
DUMP: dumping (Pass III) [directories]
DUMP: dumping (Pass IV) [regular files]
DUMP: DUMP: 826 tape blocks on 1 volumes(s)
DUMP: Closing /u1/var.dump
DUMP: DUMP IS DONE
xaos (root) /u1 5% restore tvf /u1/var.dump
Verify tape and initialize maps
Tape block size is 32
Checksum error 244734, inode 0 file (null)
Tape is not a dump tape
xaos (root) /u1 6% uname -a
NetBSD 1.2A alpha
Might this be a 64-bit problem?
