You can get rid of this error by copying /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xdm/libXdm*
to /usr/X11R6/lib , but that likely still won't solve the problem (it didn't
for me... :-( )
The behavior I'm seeing when I run xdm (from a root login on the console,
until I can get this fixed) is that it starts the xserver, but doesn't run
anything after that (and the server just quits)... ktrace didn't provide
anything useful either :-( xinit works fine though...
